Goi Goi Clothing is a British brand of fashion apparel first introduced in the 1980′s. Though the original product did not have the longevity designers had hoped for, the company is experiencing notable growth since their 2005 relaunch.
Part of the cause of the necessity of a relaunch included a legal suit with high fashion designer Gorgio Armani who claimed the use of “Gio” in their branding was illegal.
Fashions in this line are tied closely to the indie rock music movement. In fact, several big names in music and movies are known to sport the brand regularly. Major supporters include musicians Pete Doherty, Tom Meighan, Calvin Harris and Mike Skinner. Other noteable fans include boxer Michael Jennings and actors Danny Dyer and Paul Nicholls.
As part of their celebrity status, Gio Goi has teamed with Pete Doherty to create a rock inspired line of T-Shirts. The shirts launched in 2006 and found a welcome reception from fans and critics alike. The brand’s selling power has continued to gain steady growth through the early 2000′s resulting in the company’s first high street shop in Union Square.
The Gio Goi clothing brand has come along way in it’s thirty year lifespan. From clubs and raves to high street fashion, this is one company with staying power.
